How Jackpool works

Jackpoolkeeps a group's lottery pool organized — who's in, who paid, what tickets were bought, and how winnings split. Here's the whole flow, plus answers to the questions people ask most.

Track-only — we never touch money

Jackpool is track-only — it never moves money. Contributions and winnings change hands offline (Venmo, cash, however your group already pays each other). The app just keeps an honest, transparent ledger of who's in, who paid, and what each member's share is.

The four steps

  1. 1

    Create a pool

Free. Name it, pick the game, set the price per share and how winnings split. You're the admin.

  2. 2

    Invite your crew

Add friends, family, or coworkers by email. They get a link to log in or sign up and join.

  3. 3

Open a draw & add tickets

Opening a draw spends 1 credit and records who owes. Buy the tickets offline, then upload a photo of each as proof.

  4. 4

    Settle & split

Enter the winning numbers and total won; the app splits it among everyone who paid in. Money changes hands offline.

What it costs

A credit is what lets you open a draw — the moment members can join and chip in. Creating pools and inviting people is free; each draw you open uses one credit. New accounts start with 1 free credit. Credits are a one-time purchase (pick any quantity at checkout), they never expire, and they're separate from the money members contribute to the pool (that stays offline).

Frequently asked

Glossary

Shares
How much of the pool a member is in for. Everyone starts at 1 share when a draw opens; an admin can bump someone to more shares (they pay more and, on a proportional split, win more) or set them to 0 to sit out.
Equal split
Winnings are divided evenly among every member who paid in, no matter how many shares each holds.
Proportional split
Winnings are weighted by how much each member paid in — pick this if members can buy different numbers of shares.
Draw credit
A credit is what lets you open a draw — the moment members can join and chip in. Creating pools and inviting people is free; each draw you open uses one credit. New accounts start with 1 free credit. Credits are a one-time purchase (pick any quantity at checkout), they never expire, and they're separate from the money members contribute to the pool (that stays offline).
Reported paid
The member tapped "I've paid" to say they sent their contribution offline. It stays pending until an admin confirms the money arrived and marks it paid.
Sitting out
The member is set to 0 shares for this draw — they owe nothing and don't share in any winnings. Set anyone back to 1+ shares to bring them in.
